After The Hobbit Movies Wrapped, Thorin’s Legendary Sword Orcrist Was Stolen

Armitage did not even know his sword had been stolen till Peter Jackson introduced it to his consideration. He’d been equally stunned to have Orcrist be a part of his possessions within the first place. When requested about his most memorable end-of-shoot present from any manufacturing, the actor replied:

“Orcrist, the sword from ‘The Hobbit.’ I simply didn’t count on to be gifted the unique sword from the shoot. Truly, I had it in a lock-up and it obtained stolen, and somebody was attempting to promote it. Peter pulled me apart and mentioned, ‘Are you arduous up for cash?’ I used to be like, ‘What are you speaking about?’ He mentioned, ‘Your sword’s on the market on-line.’ So I needed to undergo this entire factor of getting the police concerned, however we obtained the sword again. Now it is on a shelf in a really distinguished place.”

Neither the circumstances of the theft, nor the identification of the thief, got. The essential factor is that Armitage obtained his sword again.

Tolkien followers shall be fast to notice the poetry of the theft. In “The Hobbit,” Orcrist was plundered by Thorin from a trolls’ lair with a pile of different knick-knacks — a location paying homage to a contemporary, matted storage locker. It is also value noting that Bilbo Baggins was employed by Thorin to be a burglar, and that theft and salvage are widespread themes of Tolkien’s novel.

Sadly, actor Martin Freeman, who performed Bilbo, was not revealed to be the thief. That will have been a bit of too excellent.
