The climate workplace has declared a rain “pink alert” for Mumbai

The police have requested residents of Mumbai to remain indoors until 8.30 am right this moment after the climate workplace forecast heavy rain within the coastal metropolis.
The police’s advisory comes after the India Meteorological Division (IMD) declared a rain “pink alert” for Mumbai.
“IMD has declared a pink alert for Mumbai until right this moment morning 8.30 am. Requesting all Mumbaikars to remain indoors, till important. Please keep protected. Dial 100, 112 in case of emergencies,” the Mumbai Police mentioned in a put up on X.

Eleven flights have been cancelled and 10 have been diverted to close by airports from Mumbai right this moment as a consequence of heavy rain.

Chief Minister Eknath Shinde took inventory of the state of affairs, known as the Raigad collector and advised him to assist all flood-affected folks.
Site visitors stopped at Tamhini Ghat on the Raigad-Pune route after a landslide.
“There may be water on the roads and within the homes of individuals in Pune. There may be plenty of rain at Khadakwasla Dam and within the catchment space. The District Collector, Municipal Commissioner, and Police Commissioner are on alert,” Mr Shinde advised information company ANI.
Groups of the Nationwide Catastrophe Response Power (NDRF) and its state counterpart have been deployed, whereas the military’s airlifting groups have been requested to stay on standby.
