Ram introduced on Wednesday that the 1500 REV will now arrive in 2026, a 12 months later than initially promised when the electrical full-size pickup truck was unveiled in early 2023.
As an alternative, Ram will focus initially on the 1500 Ramcharger sequence plug-in hybrid, with order books for that mannequin set to open within the first half of 2025.
Ram acknowledged that the choice was pushed by “overwhelming client curiosity” within the sequence plug-in hybrid and “slowing trade demand” for electrical half-ton vans.
A sequence plug-in hybrid encompasses a gasoline engine that features as a generator to cost a battery. The 1500 Ramcharger’s powertrain features a 3.6-liter V-6 engine and a 92-kwh battery powering a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system rated at 663 hp.
